What does the "Parcel not available" error message mean?
If you see this error message for an order on the Orders page in PickupBird, it means that the pickup point (parcel shop or parcel locker) selected by the customer is no longer available at the carrier.
This happens on the carrier's side, not in the PickupBird system. The pickup point may still appear in our pickup point database, but the carrier has temporarily or permanently disabled that location.
What can you do in this case?
1. Check with the carrier whether the outage is temporary
In many cases, the pickup point is only temporarily unavailable (for example, due to maintenance, capacity issues, or a technical problem on the carrier's side).
If the carrier confirms that the issue is temporary, we recommend simply waiting until the pickup point becomes available again. In this case, there is no need to modify the order—you can simply try submitting the order to the carrier again from the app.
2. Offer the customer an alternative pickup point
If the pickup point has been permanently closed, or waiting is not an option, contact the customer and suggest a nearby active pickup point.
To do this:
Check the map for the nearest available pickup points operated by the same carrier (or another carrier, if applicable).
Confirm the new pickup point with the customer.
Update the order in the Shopify admin by following the guide below:
