Many stores use shipping rates that have a condition attached — for example, free shipping above a certain cart value, or a rate that only applies below/above a certain weight threshold. The PickupBird by Digiloop app can handle these rates as well.
Important: you set the conditions themselves — the cart value threshold, the weight limit, etc. — in Shopify, not in the PickupBird app. The application automatically reads in your existing Shopify rates — whether conditional or not — and you simply link them to the appropriate shipping providers.
Setting up conditional shipping rates
In the Shopify admin, open the PickupBird by Digiloop app and go to the Shipping zones and rates menu.
Go to the Pickup points or Home delivery tab.
In the list that appears, you can set the appropriate shipping rate separately for each provider — on the left.
On the right-hand panel, find the zone you want to assign a rate to.
Click the dropdown field and select the conditional rate(s) you've already created in Shopify.
Save the change by clicking Save, then place a few test orders — both below and above the threshold — to check that it works.
Important: The setting above is not the same as product-level rules based on tags or weight, which restrict which products can be shipped with a given provider. For more information, see the articles "Restricting pickup points by product tag" and "Restricting pickup points by cart weight." This article only covers rates whose price or availability changes based on conditions set on the Shopify side.
