PickupBird by Digiloop also works with external fulfillment services. With the app, your customers can select their preferred pickup point or home delivery in your webshop, while order processing, packing, and shipping are still handled by your fulfillment service — such as Webshippy, iLogistic, Boxy, or Pactic.
These orders don't need to be forwarded to your fulfillment service from the PickupBird by Digiloop app — instead, they are handled directly by the fulfillment service.
How the information flows
When the customer places an order, it appears in your Shopify admin, in the Orders menu inside the PickupBird by Digiloop app.
If the customer chose a pickup point, PickupBird enters the corresponding address in the order's Additional Details section, and your fulfillment service needs to read this to send out the order.
If the customer chose home delivery, Additional Details is left blank, and your fulfillment service uses the regular shipping address.
Your fulfillment service processes the orders based on the information it receives.
If you use a provider only to supply pickup points or map data (not for actual shipping), enable the Fulfillment service toggle in that provider's Connection settings. This tells PickupBird by Digiloop that you only want to use the pickup point integration, without the label generation and forwarding features.
