The first time you open the PickupBird by Digiloop app, a 5-step Setup Guide appears on the Dashboard. The steps build on each other, so work through them in order — this is the fastest path from installation to your first shipping label:
1. Choose your shipping provider(s)
From the dropdown menu, select the country you ship from, then from the list of available shipping providers, select the ones whose pickup point service you want to use. The currently available providers are: GLS, DPD, SAMEDAY, FAN COURIER, PACKETA, INPOST, BRING, BPOST, CORREOS, POSTNORD, MPL (Magyar Posta), OMNIVA, SLOVENSKÁ POŠTA, FOXPOST, TOURMIX, and Express One.
Setting up label printing requires a few more steps, which you can reach after completing the Setup Guide via the Manage provider settings banner or the Shipping providers menu item. For more information, see the "How to connect a shipping provider" article.
2. Set up your shipping zones and rates
The PickupBird by Digiloop app looks up the shipping zone for the country you selected earlier — all you need to do is assign your existing Shopify shipping rates to the shipping providers you selected.
If you haven't yet created a suitable shipping rate for a given provider, you can easily do so by clicking + Add new rate.
Setting up home delivery rates requires a few more steps, which you can reach after completing the Setup Guide via the Add home delivery banner or the Shipping zones and rates menu item. For more information, see the "Setting up home delivery rates" article.
3. Choose your integration type
You can decide how pickup points appear in your online store. In the PickupBird by Digiloop app, you can choose from the following options:
An interactive map on the Cart page,
An interactive map on the Thank you page shown after purchase,
An automatically generated pickup point list on the Checkout page,
For Shopify Plus customers, an interactive map solution as part of the Checkout process.
Most online stores choose the Cart page integration, since it doesn't require more complex prerequisites and is easy to customize.
Setting up the interactive map solution on the Cart page requires a few more steps, which you can reach after completing the Setup Guide via the Customize integration design banner or the Integration and Design menu item. For more information, see the "Customizing the Cart map appearance" article.
4. Enable the app embed in your online store
For the pickup point selector to appear in your online store, you need to enable it by clicking Add app embed. The Theme Editor opens automatically, and the system prepares everything for you to enable it — all you need to do is confirm the action by clicking Save. Then close the Theme Editor window and return to the PickupBird by Digiloop app to finalize your settings.
5. Get ready to launch!
Activate your setup by choosing a subscription plan. Clicking Choose a plan displays our available plan options. Carefully read the list of features included in each plan and select the one that suits you best.
Every subscription plan automatically includes a 7-day free trial — you won't be charged until it ends. For more information, see the "How to choose a subscription plan" article.
Next steps after launch
Once you've completed all 5 steps and chosen a subscription plan, the Setup Guide card disappears from the Dashboard. In its place, 6 cards appear — these let you conveniently fine-tune your settings at your own pace.
Manage provider settings: enter the provider's access credentials so orders can be automatically sent to the partner. For more information, see the "Shipping Providers" collection.
Cash on delivery and payment settings: set up cash on delivery (COD) payment, and adjust payment methods per shipping rate. For more information, see the "Payment Settings" collection.
Customize the integration design: adjust the appearance of the pickup point selector to match your store's branding. For more information, see the "Integration and Design" collection.
Translate the pickup point selector text: customize the text your customers see when choosing a pickup point. For more information, see the "Translating the customer-facing text" article.
Add home delivery: expand your offering with a home delivery option alongside pickup points. For more information, see the "Setting up home delivery rates" article.
Enable label generation: generate shipping labels for your orders directly within the PickupBird by Digiloop app. For more information, see the "Forwarding orders to the shipping partner" article.
These cards aren't required to get started — they're there for fine-tuning the features available in the app, and you can complete them at any time, in any order.
